Who was EOKA?
The Ethniki Organosis Kyprion Agoniston (EOKA), which translates to "National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters", was a Greek Cypriot nationalist guerilla organization active from 1955 to 1959.
Goals
- 1.End British rule and occupation of the island and not to tolerate any new occupier
- 2.Achieve Enosis (union) of Cyprus with Greece.
Who
- Thousands of ordinary Greek men and women from Cyprus.
- Barely any military experience or significant weaponry, but with a strong will and an even stronger desire.
