He was born in the village of Kyperounta1, in the Limassol district, in 1938.

Georgios Charalampous finished Kyperounta primary school and worked as a builder in Limassol, where he joined EOKA. He was mainly active in the city of Limassol.
On Sunday, March 4, 1956, bombs were dropped in various parts of Limassol. Among them was the bomb that Georgios Charalampous threw, at eight o’clock in the evening of that day, against a military car near the “Pallas” cinema in Pentadromo. The bomb exploded while he was throwing it and caused his death.
Initially, it was announced that Georgios Charalampous was shot by British soldiers who were riding in the car against which the bomb was thrown. However, the autopsy that was performed determined that his death was caused by a bullet from the bomb that exploded and pierced his heart.
The British soldiers, who transported him to his village the next day, ordered that he be buried immediately. His funeral took place in an atmosphere of mourning, but also of pride and determination to continue the Struggle.
