About Nikolaos Yagou
He was born in the village of Zodia, in the province of Nicosia, in 1934.Today in the Turkish-occupied area. On October 9, 1958, he was tortured to death and died at the Lefkas police station. Nikolaos Yagou graduated from the elementary school of Zodia and was a farmer.
He was sworn in as a member of EOKA shortly before April 1, 1955 and undertook the recruitment of other members in his village. He took part in various activities, such as the attack on the Koutrafa police station.
He was a team leader of the Upper Zodiac and developed a rich activity. In his house he kept a hideout in which he hosted guerrillas, undertaking both their protection and their supply, as well as their movement, knowing at all times where they were.
