About Vassilis Alexandrou
He was born in the village of Limnatis, in the province of Limassol, in 1925. He died on November 21, 1958 after being tortured by the British during his detention in the Polemiou camp. Vassilis Alexandrou graduated from the elementary school of Limnati and worked as a salesman in the cooperative grocery of his village.
He was a founding member and member of the committees of the local nationalist unions SEK and PEK. He joined EOKA in 1955 with the start of the match, as assistant team leader of Limnati.
He was a member of the local Limnati percussion team and developed a rich activity. He was a liaison and feeder of the guerrillas of the Fasoula – Paramythas sector and took part in the first ambush, near the village of Alassa, of the Limnati and Lania groups.
