About Savvas Rotsides

- Born on 18/01/1935 in the village of Mammari
- (today Mammari is inside of the bufferzone)
- Killed on 25/11/1958 in the area of Agros
He joined EOKA from the beginning of the struggle, collaborating with the groups of Pitsilia. On 18 november 1955 he took part in the second operation in the Pitsilia sector to get dynamite from the Mitseros mine. In november 1956 he was arrested and abused by the occupier cause he was found in possesion of 2 revolvers.
On 25 november 1958, Rotsides went to a spring together with his companion Rogeros Sipillis to take water. They left their hideout in the 'Skouri' area of Agros and they were ambushes by the occupiers soldiers who didn't respect the truce. Rotsidis martyred and Sipillis was heavily injured. Savvas Rotsidis was the last EOKA fighter who gained eternal life.
